How to Implement a Pay-Per-Lead Affiliate Commission Structure
Lead-based affiliate programs offer a flexible commission structure, allowing businesses to reward affiliates for each lead generated. This guide walks you through setting up a Pay-Per-Lead (PPL) model, making it easy to track leads and reward affiliates accordingly. This model is ideal for campaigns that collect leads through forms, surveys, and calendar bookings.
Setting Up a PPL Campaign
Step 1: Create a New Campaign
- Go to Affiliate Manager in the Marketing section.
- To start a new campaign, click on the "Campaign Page" and then the "+ Add" button.
Step 2: Select Source Type
- Choose your lead source: "Forms, Surveys, or Calendars."
- These sources can track and credit leads generated through your affiliates.
Step 3: Enable Pay-Per-Lead
- Under the "Commissions" tab, toggle on the Pay-Per-Lead option.
- This activates the pay-per-lead commission structure for your campaign.
Step 4: Set Per Lead Commission
- Define how much commission will be given for each lead.
- Enter this amount under "Per Lead Commission."
Step 5: Configure Advanced Commission Settings (Optional)
- If needed, set up multiple tiers for your commission structure.
- For instance, you can reward the primary affiliate and their sub-affiliates differently.
Step 6: Add Campaign Description & Assign Affiliates
- Write a clear campaign description to communicate its goals to affiliates.
- Assign affiliates to participate in this campaign. (You can add them later if they are not ready yet.)
Step 7: Review & Finalize
- Double-check all settings for accuracy.
- Click on 'Publish' to make your campaign live.
Tracking Leads and Commissions
Monitor Leads:
- Once your campaign is live, track all leads from the Affiliate Profile Page.
View Commissions:
- Navigate to the Commissions tab. Each lead commission will appear in the "Product" column, indicating its source.
Special Notes:
- Embedded Tracking: Ensure that forms, surveys, or calendars are embedded within a webpage or funnel. Custom code embeds, or iframes may not support lead tracking effectively.
