How to Implement a Pay-Per-Lead Affiliate Commission Structure

Lead-based affiliate programs offer a flexible commission structure, allowing businesses to reward affiliates for each lead generated. This guide walks you through setting up a Pay-Per-Lead (PPL) model, making it easy to track leads and reward affiliates accordingly. This model is ideal for campaigns that collect leads through forms, surveys, and calendar bookings.

Setting Up a PPL Campaign

Step 1: Create a New Campaign

  1. Go to Affiliate Manager in the Marketing section.
  2. To start a new campaign, click on the "Campaign Page" and then the "+ Add" button.

Step 2: Select Source Type

  1. Choose your lead source: "Forms, Surveys, or Calendars."
  2. These sources can track and credit leads generated through your affiliates.

Step 3: Enable Pay-Per-Lead

  1. Under the "Commissions" tab, toggle on the Pay-Per-Lead option.
  2. This activates the pay-per-lead commission structure for your campaign.

Step 4: Set Per Lead Commission

  1. Define how much commission will be given for each lead.
  2. Enter this amount under "Per Lead Commission."

Step 5: Configure Advanced Commission Settings (Optional)

  1. If needed, set up multiple tiers for your commission structure.
  2. For instance, you can reward the primary affiliate and their sub-affiliates differently.

Step 6: Add Campaign Description & Assign Affiliates

  1. Write a clear campaign description to communicate its goals to affiliates.
  2. Assign affiliates to participate in this campaign. (You can add them later if they are not ready yet.)

Step 7: Review & Finalize

  1. Double-check all settings for accuracy.
  2. Click on 'Publish' to make your campaign live.

Tracking Leads and Commissions

Monitor Leads:

  • Once your campaign is live, track all leads from the Affiliate Profile Page.

View Commissions:

  • Navigate to the Commissions tab. Each lead commission will appear in the "Product" column, indicating its source.

Special Notes:

  • Embedded Tracking: Ensure that forms, surveys, or calendars are embedded within a webpage or funnel. Custom code embeds, or iframes may not support lead tracking effectively.
